What Spa Employers Look For in a Resume

Spa hiring managers spend an average of 6 seconds on a resume. Your document must immediately communicate: your certifications, your specialisations and your experience level.

Resume Structure for Spa Therapists

1. Header

Your name, phone number, email and city. Add your WhatsApp number — many spas prefer WhatsApp communication.

2. Professional Summary (3 sentences)

Example: "Certified Spa Therapist with 3 years of experience in luxury 5-star environments. Specialised in Swedish, deep tissue and hot stone massage. Currently seeking a senior therapist role in a premium hotel spa in Mumbai."

3. Certifications

List every certification with the institute name and year.

4. Work Experience

For each role, list: Spa Name, Job Title, Location, Dates. Then 3 bullet points of achievements using numbers where possible.

5. Skills

Swedish massage, deep tissue, hot stone, Ayurvedic treatments, reflexology, body wraps, POS software, customer service, English communication.

Common Resume Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using a photo with unprofessional background
  • Listing irrelevant jobs
  • No mention of certifications or training hours
