Why Your Questions Matter as Much as Your Answers
Most spa interview guides focus entirely on answering questions — but what you ask reveals your priorities, professionalism and how seriously you want the role. A candidate who asks nothing leaves the interviewer with no memory of them.
Questions About the Role
- "What does a typical working day for a therapist look like here?"
- "How many treatment hours per day is the team expected to deliver?"
- "What is the balance between body treatments and facial treatments on a typical day?"
Questions About Growth
- "What training and development do you offer new therapists?"
- "Are there opportunities to specialise in particular treatment modalities?"
- "What does the career path look like from therapist to senior therapist here?"
Questions About the Team & Culture
- "How long has the current spa team been together?"
- "How would you describe the culture in the spa team?"
- "What qualities do your most successful therapists share?"
Questions About the Business
- "How is the spa performing currently — are you in a growth phase?"
- "What are the key performance metrics therapists are measured against?"
Questions to Avoid
- Do not ask about salary in the first interview — wait until they bring it up or offer you the role.
- Do not ask about leave entitlement in the first interview.
